Nokia partners Nigeria's Spectranet for broadband service

Nigerian internet service provider Spectranet and Finnish player Nokia have joined hands to provide Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) based 100+ Mbps ultra broadband services to consumers and business users in Nigeria.

Nokia partners Nigeria's Spectranet for broadband serviceNEW DELHI: Nigerian internet service provider Spectranet and Finnish player Nokia have joined hands to provide Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) based 100+ Mbps ultra broadband services to consumers and business users in Nigeria.

As part of the extensive FTTH rollout, Nokia’s GPON solutions will be deployed to enable high-speed access to customers in Lagos and Abuja cities of Nigeria, said a joint statement.

The offering will allow Spectranet to provide new ultra-broadband services such as 4K HD video streaming and online gaming to residential and enterprise subscribers in the region, it further added.

The internet provider said that Nokia’s FTTH technology will address the evolving demands of its subscribers by providing high speed and stable internet connectivity at affordable tariffs.

“In today’s digital economy, our customers increasingly seek high-speed internet access to use applications like streaming ultra HD videos and online gaming. With Nokia’s GPON solution, we will be able to offer customers new ultra-broadband services that create a superior customer experience in the home and office, ” Ajay Awasthi, CEO, Spectranet said.
